Introduction

This paper is a technical introduction to the Bitcoin electronic cash system. It presents the design principles of transactions and blockchain. It is based on the Satoshi Nakamoto's paper and the Wiki site of the Bitcoin community.

Some mechanisms are illustrated with JavaScript code for Node.js. We do not intend with these code snippets to provide an implementation for production, but to help any reader with a basic programming knowledge to understand the main features.

This article is written as a kind of tutorial, to go further, we recommend a more formalized article by Krzysztof Okupski: Bitcoin Developer Reference.
